How am I protected as a host with bookings?
There are several protections for hosts who accept bookings through our location scouting service. Production companies are expected to carry a minimum of $1M in liability insurance for each shoot. Both you and the property will be named as an additional insured on their policy, and you will also be provided a Certificate of Insurance (COI) prior to the shoot. This is the industry standard. If you're using our marketplace site, you will have the opportunity to request this from the production company yourself prior to a booking.
AVVAY or the production company will also supply a location agreement, which overviews what is expected and what is being agreed to by all parties. The location agreement will include a section on property damage, which typically states that if there is damage done to the property by the production company during the course of the shoot, the production company is responsible for repairs. The host can also request additional protections, such as floor protectant or that the crew wears booties, etc., and those types of requests are discussed on a case by case basis.
